Overly Protective Leghorn

Hello all. I have a white leghorn that's about a year old now but he has a problem of being overly protective. I can't really check on the hens during the day because he tries to keep people away from the hens as well. I have to check on the hens at night to give them food and water, so it makes me feel the hens aren't getting enough interaction based on the rooster. I was going to post on here to see if anyone wanted him but I haven't met the required number of posts yet. If anyone has advice on how to deal with the situation I would love to hear it. I'm not quite sure what to do about it as of right now. Thanks.

I forgot to mention that I have four new Ameraucana hens as well that will eventually be placed with the other hen in a new coop. I don't know how the rooster will react either.
