I have to go in for an overnight surgery in a few days.

I am doing well, thank you for asking.
The chooks were left out to roam and nothing ate them or scratched them up. I ended up popping down to bunnings and get a small $90 Ring wifi camera which has a motion sensor and an alarm. I connected that to face the little house and spent the hospital stay watching it like a hawk, it helped deter 1 stray cat and my sneaky little chihuahua which was nice.
