Owl attack- severely bent neck

Yesterday, this chicken was perfectly normal and the next morning her neck was bent severely like this. That same night an owl had killed one of her hatch mates in another area of the larger fenced yard under another, large, mostly covered coop. There were no marks on this surviving chick's body, and she was found isolated in a kind of chicken tractor with a coop attached. The removable lid to the coop area was partially off and she was found alone inside the run section of the tractor with her neck bent back on itself, obviously VERY traumatized.

She was pacing around frantically and the neck vertebra at the curve feels very abnormal, and her neck cannot be straightened out fully with gentle force.

I'm just at a loss for what to do about the neck. I'm concerned about her prognosis and if I can do something to alleviate her condition. She is wobbly on her feet, but otherwise doing too well for me to feel good about dispatching her.

X-rays are out of the question unfortunately, which of course would be best course of action if I could afford it.

So far I have brought her to my home, I've mixed up some probiotic vitamin drink for her, put some deworming medicine in her feed (I noticed she has roundworms) and I'm wondering if a neck brace could help in a case this severe or what her long term prognosis might be.

Anyone had experience with anything similar?

(BTW, all the chickens have been moved to a smaller area and reenforced with more coverage to try to prevent future attacks for now)

This looks like wry neck to me.

Supplement Vitamin E, Vitamin B, and Selenium mutliple times a day could help in recovery. Pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, and dandelions are some sources of Vitamin E if you cannot find any medicinal supplements.

Fixing this issue will not be immediate, you will need to be patient and you may need to help her eat and drink depending on how she functions with her neck that way.

Possibly, and I'm giving the support recommended for wry neck, but there was also an owl attack that I can't discount as a cause. Previous attacks have had a bone dislocated in the bird but no punctures in the body (aside from a missing head.) We know it's owls because we caught one accidently when it got stuck inside one of the mostly enclosed places we have found dead chickens and we have video footage of owls attempting to get in to the chicken tractor this chick was in with the coop lid half off.

I'm🥺 so sorry for this attack. This is very unfortunate and I just want to let you know that he cannot have his original neck back so he will have to live like this for the rest of his life. Get him some good treats and have him drink vitamin water. Hopefully, he lives a long life!!

Wry neck can be caused by injury as well.
