owls killing my chickens and eating the head

Scubadave, have you seen the owls actually taking your chickens? Weasels ar well known for nighttime predation, and often remove the heads.

I have pictures of a barred owl in my neibors chicken pen with 2 dead chickens. I was shocked what I saw on trail camera. 2 barred owls nest in a hollow tree by our house been watching them for several years never seen them with anything but small rodents and snakes

Owls are individuals and they can learn.
