oyster shell order came ground up

The oyster shell i ordered over the internet came ground up fine. How the heck is one supposed to use it in that form? Meanwhile, they have the regular chunky kind from a feed store and they eat it regularly. Should I discard the bags of ground shell?

They'll use it. Just put it in a small bowl. They'll get it when they want it.

It depends on what the oyster shell is used for.

Just sprinkle a pinch or two on their food when you feed them and throw some on the coop floor to give them something to scratch for. That's how I use mine and I'm getting good hard shelled eggs every day. They use it as grit in their crop to some extent too.
