Oyster Shell Question

My oldest pullets are 14 weeks, so I know I should probably start offering Oyster Shell soon as they will not be on layer feed. What brand do you guys recommend? I will probably get it from TSC although Chewy is also an option. No Rural King around me. Don’t know if any other big chains would have it.

Also, does Oyster Shell attract mice? Didn’t know if I would need a separate container to store it in the garage.

Brand doesn't really matter, however be aware that calcium generally comes in 2 forms - one is shattered, flaked shells and the other is crushed shell and/or limestone pressed into pellets that look more like grit. Your birds may prefer one over another, which is why I bring it up. I've only used actual shells (Small Pet Select, Scratch & Peck are 2 brands that offer this form).

Don't know if it'd attract mice. I've never had an issue with it.

Had an egg song today, with some movement of fake eggs in the nest box. Hopefully we will have eggs soon!

My chickens and ducks love the grey flakes oyster shell, but will not touch the pressed small pebble like oyster shell. I buy mine from scratch and Peck.
