After getting my second egg in as many days, I went to the feed store (Southern States) to pick-up some oyster shell. When I got home and opened the bag, I saw it was calcium chips (fairly large pebbles and hard). From my past experience with hens, I remember oyster shell as being rather flaky and soft. Is anyone else using calcium chips for supplementation? I'm not sure the pullets are going to eat them...any advice appreciated.
