Oyster shells at what age?

How old do chicks have to be before they can eat oyster shells? We just discovered our chicks can now reach the oyster shells we have in a feeder for our adult chickens! Had no idea they would grow so fast.

Oyster shells are only for laying hens. Chicks should not have them at all, as it is too much calcium for them.
