Oyster shells or regular grit?

Quote:
Keep in mind now and forever, that most people in feed and farm supply stores are hired for their retail experience, not knowledge of the products they sell. Not that they are dumb, just not their field of expertise. They might learn more about it as time goes on, but turnover is often high in such jobs.

Don't worry, sounds like you are doing great!

Well said.

Apple Cider Vinegar--If you use it make sure to get the organic kind with the"mother" in it. 18% will be ok, I like to start mine on 22% and keep the entire flock on that for a good part of the year, but they free range so who knows what their actuall protien intake is.

I have grit in a separate bowl, so the chicks can eat it when they need/want it. I'll do the same for the oystershell later.
