I'm making a gagging face just looking at the pictures I am finding online...looks like they are popular in soups or fried.

I have never seen them anywhere but they have been shown on cooking shows. They are popular in other cultures but in ours we waste a multitude of food based on sqeamishness and snobbery. Our culture prefers additives, chemicals, with no preperation time and the waistlines show it.

I agree with you - I think groundhog is delicious- but person has to draw their own personal line somewhere. Yesterday I was listening to The Splendid Table on NPR and they were talking about a Chinese spring dish of eggs pickled in children's urine. Seriously.
That's pretty much my line right there. That and testicles.
