Speaking of coffee, this morning as I was enjoying my second cup and checking my emails, I noticed an email from Next-door Neighbor that said, "Vicious chicken of Bristol found" on the next street over from me. They also had a nice picture of a scuffed up looking hen in someone's garden. It was BLRW but really scruffy looking.
So I went outside to check and sure enough one of my BLRW was missing and there were feathers all over the yard. We have been seeing hawks now and then, so I think a hawk came after her and she managed to get away minus a bunch of feathers. So far she is behaving fine and I don't see any problems. I will check her good tonight when I don't have to chase her in the heat.
The picture and Monty Python line was rather funny.
I am just glad she looks okay so far. May be looking for help later, hope not.

For anyone who might want to know, my hen is fine, no breaks in the skin that I can find. A lot of feathers missing, she looks like she is in the middle of a bad molt.
Poor baby seems to be doing fine, eating and drinking, just looks like hell.
