So I am hoping this will be allowed here, but was thinking it might be a nice place to get an idea of who is bringing what or who can bring what to the various shows and other meetups applicable to poultry in the PNW. I know we have the actual organized swaps - this would be more for those who would like to orchestrate meeting at shows, etc.

SO....

Pacific Northwest Poultry Association Show - Salem, Oregon - October 19th-20th, 2012
http://pacificnorthwestpoultry.org

Please post your wants/bringing for the sale area, or what birds you might be willing to sell after the show, or what you can meet people with at the show.

Bringing - We will try to bring some Dominiques to show, will be willing to sell several of them after the show if we can bring the numbers we're hoping for.
Wanting - I believe my business partner is still looking for a high quality black Ameracauna cock bird, and a high quality black or blue Orpington (non English) pullet or hen. All birds must be NPIP.

Because this swap already has a whole BYC for wants/bringing, please refer to there.

Please add more events - any places that folks can meet up and connect with other poultry persons to help get good stock moved around.

Good idea.

Maybe with enough notice, some one can plan a hatch if there are buyers.

I'll be showing Blue Swedish and probably Pomeranian Geese at Salem.

If anyone wants exhibition potential Swedish or Appleyards, they will have to tell me now so I can get eggs into the incubator.

I won't have any Poms for sale, but might be interested in purchasing the right Pomeranian.

I forgot to add, can bring hatching eggs from the kid's bantam RC Rhode Island Reds - $20/doz, regular, discount to youth showmen. Can also bring fun little mixed pen hatching bantam eggs if a kid just wants some pets for free :D RIR rooster over one RIR hen, a mille fleur cochin hen and a buff Ameracauna hen, Very interesting mix, but the rooster has to have some love, right? I'm in Sweet Home and can meet here or at the shows - I will probably go to the fall swap but won't be bringing anything as it's already a crazy part of year, I could meet someone there with anything we have at that time. Will probably have Dominique cockerels at eating age, delicious.

I was thinking that's late in the year for hatching eggs for me. Then, I remembered, my flocks will be combined for the winter by that time. In fact, they will be back together in less than a month. I'll separate them in January again.

Interest in hatching eggs seems to peter out in the summer, and I don't want to ship eggs in the heat, anyway. As soon as I have space in the incubator, I'll put in some eggs for myself and then the flocks go back together.
