Pacific NW Hello

I"m still waiting for my chicks, but we got almost the exact same thing! I've listed mine in my signature. I can hardly wait. I keep thinking I should order a few more just in case a couple die, or turn out to be roosters! I'd love a Buff Orpington Rooster by "accident". Welcome to BYC. I'm new too. I can't think about anything but chickens now, and I've been newly obsessed for the past 2 weeks. And I went and read some threads on the incubator forums...oops, big mistake. Now I have to do that TOO! It is funny how this becomes so addicting! It's so fun though! Kristy

Happy Friday All -

Thanks for all the welcomes. I too am feeling like I must get more chicks as well after reading about folks having their favorites.

I chose mine based on being dual purpose, great layers, cold hardy, known to be friendly, and they were the ones my local feed store was ordering in.

I have yet to name them but must admit I would have a hard time of doing them in myself.

The pics of people's silkies are just adorable and if I do get some just for fun that would be the one.

Someone mentioned a Washingtonian site. Is that here or different site?

Great day -

Hey there!

Welcome to BYC. We've got a "Washingtonians" thread going here: https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=461&p=139

I
live in Tacoma, not too far from you. We just out our 2 brand new girls at the Del's in Olympia, since the one in Puyallup didn't get those breeds. They're soooo sweet (BA & BO), peeping softly as I type this: the brooder is in the living room until our heat is fixed and they can move into the kitchen's breakfast nook.
