Packing Peanuts??

MPC states on their website that they do not use packing peanuts. THat's why shipping is so pricey - you get express mail for that high price if you order a small number.

MPC doesn't include packing peanuts, which is why their shipping charges are so high. Occasionally they will include an extra chick or two, but its usually the sex and breed(s) you ordered.

I live about an hour from a major airport. I just received 5 chicks from MPC....well actually the were shipped from McMurry in Polk Ohio, I did not receive any extras. They were in great condition when I picked them up about an hour after the post office called me.

I will just echo what most people have already said. MPC states that they do not add packing peanuts. I got an order from them a few weeks ago and they did not add any in. The use heating pads and ship express. You have to pay more for it but they don't add peanuts for the extra price.

I ordered 10 chicks from MPC and received 6 packing peanuts!! When I emailed MPC about it this is what they said: "I'm not sure why the hatchery would have added so many extras, unless it was a matter of talking to you about shipping early, Jun 8, rather than when originally scheduled, Jul 6. It is not our practice to ship extras in most cases--I hope that isn't a problem for you!"

My shipment came from Ohio and I did not have any sort of heating apparatus in the box. 1 chick was DOA, 1 died 2 hours later, 1 died 3 days later and they slipped me a pheasant.
