Page Wire Spacing for Sheep?

I'm new to sheep and wondering what size of page wire fencing we should get? 4 x4 woven is expensive so I was wondering what I could "get away with". Needs to keep lambs and mothers in. Will be doing four foot or five foot tall.

I hate to say it... but the 2 inch woven fencing is far superior in my experience.... Issue with the 4 inch is heads can lean through and feet can step on... adding to wear and stretching on the fence.

I haven't kept sheep yet... just goats and chickens. I expect they may be a little easier than goats on the fence, but sharing my concern is all.

Is electric poultry or sheep netting an option for you? The portable ones are pretty nice and very effective and EASY to install and use and will allow for great predator protection and pasture management.

Thanks for your comment! We tried electric- wow. It did not phase them at all, the escape artists that they are.

Sheep are supposed to be easier on the fence, so I have been told.

I think what we will do is a strand of electric at the bottom to keep them away from the fence.
