Traveler is a 3/4 orpington cockeral that Cyn was gracious enough to allow me to have. He is the most amusing bird I have ever had. He rode home on my shoulder most of the 2 hour drive and looked out the car window! He is a riot!

The pics are not great but the little bugger won't hold still for 2 seconds!

As you can see, he is developing a lavander hackle. Very interesting, I thought.

Hey, Robin! He's how old now? (looked it up, he's only two months old now) That boy is HUGE! And very interesting-looking, too! Thanks for the pictures!

BTW, Traveler looks so hen-ish in that picture. Surely, that's a cockerel, right? The comb was red early on, but the body shape is odd for a boy. Hmm, well, who knows? Meg and Suede are big round birds, both of them.

I'm very curious myself about the sex for certain. I sometimes look at Traveler and have to wonder if he is a she.

Either way, I love the bird and he/she will have a happy home

I tell ya, Robin, that body shape seems very girly to me. Doesn't matter to me, since I didn't have room for it even if it was a girl, but you may have lucked out with a pullet who fooled us. BUT, that one feathered out soooo slowly, just like a cockerel. Oh, not another Shaq like Karen had, LOL!! Keep me posted on this one. What unusual coloring!

I was amazed to see how the feathers started to come in with these wild colorations! Just alot of fun to see the day to day changes take place.
It would not hurt my feelings if it does turn out that Traveler is a hen but I think it is very funny that we were all so certain it was a cockeral to begin with

Time will tell.

We were certain Shaq aka RuPaul was a girl too........

I looked back at my first pics of him and he was even marked like a girl when he was born, small spot on head and all.
