Hi All,
I rescued some fighting chickens about 35 years ago in Texas and loved having fresh eggs. Fast forward to now... Recently moved to Pagosa Springs and finally starting a homestead in my 60s. Lesson... don’t give up on your dreams... So, I found myself once again rescuing some chickens, but more intimately involved with ‘The Girls’ this time.
I seem to have a small mix... 3 ISA Browns, 1 Leghorn, 2 Rhoda Island, 1 Plymouth and 1 I’m not sure, she’s has black feathers on top half and red feathers on bottom half. I’ll call her Half Breed!
We are restoring a 70s log cabin that will eventually become a guest cabin and super excited about building a greenhouse and starting a garden.
I’ve been directed to Backyard Chickens several times now whenever I have questions, so I finally joined!
Excited to be here and learn about my Girls, so we can take care of each other.
