My 4 chickens were attacked last night ( raccoon or fox?)
the two survivors were scalped pretty badly, under anesthesia the Dr put most of the skin back together, some skin had to be removed, the Dr said pain med might now be a bad idea when she was sewing them up but when I left the tech said they wont need it. I want them comfortable at least a day or so. Please advise me of any pain med they can safely take and the dosages.
thanks so much
Mary

As long as there is not a lot of bleeding you can mix one regular strength aspirin in a gallong of water.

They are amazing creatures so probably won't need it for long. Hope all goes will with them during the time they heal and hope you get the bugger that did that to them.

Thanks for the info, I am getting a trap and may God have mercy on the souls of what gets trapped.
