We will be finishing our coop up to hopefully have the chicks out of the brooder (and our bedroom) and into the coop by June 1st.

We want to paint the inside of the coop white to add light and to make it easier for cleaning. Is there a type of paint that is better than others for the chickens' health? I don't want to put anything in there that might make them sick.

Thank you for your help.

I don't know about types of paint, but if you do paint it, I'd make sure to air the coop out for a few days before putting the birds in, so they won't be breathing any fumes. I would be a little concerned about the paint flaking, and the chickens pecking at it though, myself...

I used latex semi gloss white the glossier the easier it is to clean, as nocila said let it air out a good couple of days mine didn't smell it took like 3 days toair.
