Paint Silkie blue or black?????

This is a little paint cockerel about 2 months in the pic. I've noticed his spots are not darkening up so was wanting to know if you think he's a blue paint or a black paint. Thanks in advance.

Sorry didn't get a chance to get back on yesterday. The stomache flue hit me and I was in no shape to sit at a computer

The parents colors: Rooster was paint and the hen was black, bought this little fella through some very costly hatching eggs

so to be honest there could have been a blue hen in the pen and I would not know. I was really thinking blue too, I hatched some solid blacks from these eggs also and they are a nice dark black not this blue gray color. The other paint I hatched only has a tiny little spot on it's tail so I can't tell much on it since it's only like one feather.

Defin itely looks blue. One parent or the other carried blue; the paint parent might have also been splash and not as noticeable as such? Or either or both could have one copy of blue and be heavily melanized so that the blue is dark enough to be mistaken for black. Or there was a blue involved that hoped pens or was not mentioned. Pretty bird; I would not sweat it.
