My beautiful silkie rooster needs to be sold, very sadly. He is 3 years old and throws gorgeous chicks. £20 to a good home. I may be able to deliver if you cannot collect. Herts/Essex/N.London area.

I am tempted to take him but unfortunately my flock is ill at the moment so it wouldn't be fair on him I don't think.
Hope he finds a good home.

Oh goodness, I hope they are OK. Give me a shout when they are recovered. I'm not desperate, I want him to go to the best place. 🙂

I definitely will let you know.

Is he agressive? My current Cockerel has become rather agressive towards everyone other than me so I'm going to have to put him down.

Cool.

He has been a little protective of the hens in the past (maybe twice) when my 6 yr old son was running around in the garden while they free ranged and he perceived him to be a threat (understandably so), but I worked with both of them for a while (building a relationship, teaching respect, etc) and it didn't happen again. He is generally very sweet, happy to be carried around and petted and is VERY good with the hens and any chicks I have. I raised him from a chick so he is used to being handled.

I forgot to say he is a bantam.

Ok! He sounds like a nice Cockerel.
I'll let you know if I manage to sort out this lot. May have to cull the whole flock of 30 as I'm beginning to think it's a bad respiratory disease.
I'll get back to you..

Gosh I hope it isn't that bad. Have you posted on BYC for advice? God knows avian vets seem to be as rare as hens teeth here in the UK.

Oh I know! Walked into petsathome the other day (terrible idea) to get some medication. It's all dogs and cats, not even anything for parrots.

As to posting for advice.
I've looked at many many old threads about the same thing so I have a pretty good idea of whats going on.

Fingers crossed. 🤞🤞
