Paint Silkies ~ European Lines

Those do not look like paint markings. They look like partridge or wildtype, and maybe Co markings. They came from white X white or white X something else? And what is the background of the whites?

So, I hatched out a paint chick, but was confused by the seemingly Khaki colored feathers. I thought that dun and black couldn't co-exist, but then I read that the Euro brand of paint has that coloration.
So here is the chick.

I'm not sure which chickens are throwing this, as they free breed. This is my second paint in a year. the other did not make it thru chickhood and it's a struggle to keep this one going.

I am going to ask this here as you seem more serious then the Silkie thread. Is there any color of Silkie that Raspberry combed rooster is acceptable?

It is NOT the dun gene. Dun gene would give you dun SPOTS against the background. The colour you are seeing is documented as occurring in dominant white birds. It is most common in hte hackle area of males, but you can also get it as a pretty uniform ground colour in both genders. Here is my paint roo whose entire ground colour is champagne. He doesn't have a lot of spots, and his predominant ones are under his wings.

Incidentally, I HAVE hatched a paints with dun spots. The most well-marked example, unfortunately walked under a horse's hoof. She was not pure silkie, as you can see.
