Painted geese????

We had geese like these before, the head is gray, some patch of color over the body, the new one we called them painted had spotty head.

Not sure, HappyMtn, But I think the painted(I called it) came from already spotty DAD(with white head) over white and spotty MOM.

Not sure who comes first but you are probably right HappyMtn, F1 is got to be the Boy.
They do look some what like the one in sybilden's geese, my geese just have little more work put in to it - I think, they seems to have more even spots through out the body, starting with their bills.

some even have spots on and around the eye, very interesting never the least. I'm sure they are not the first gray white cross, any input??

all those painted looking birds will be males. By the looks of their beaks they are China or african crosses.
I use to raise Brown china maleX White embden Female for 5-6 yrs, males always came out blue painted and females brown like dad.

Beautiful cross, but the sons painted colour never transfered to any offspring......

That is interesting, so are they like sex link? what happen to F2s or F3s and so on since you had them for 5-6 years. Do you have any pictures? Will love to see some.

I talked with the breeder, it was white embden that she used not the white pilgrim, will that make any diffirence? i didn't see any gray geese with white spots, guess the white is like a canvas for the gray, I don't know.....

We had a goose, just like yours. He was a mix of Toulouse and Embden. Same pattern as yours, and he also had blue eyes. The mix makes beautiful, very sweet geese.

Congrats, on your new flock!!

Here are a couple pics of ours.
