Painting my #1 girl, Tinkie!

Hi! Tinkie (also known as Tink, Tinkie Winkie, Tinkie Birb) is my 10 month old Delaware. From the day we brought her home as a tiny little fluff ball we knew there was just something special about her. She was so friendly and outgoing that I was sure she would end up being a rooster! Eggs a few months later finally put that to rest. Her favorite place has always been on my shoulder cuddled up as close as she can get. I took a picture and decided I really liked the lighting and the way she looked so I thought I would try my hand at painting her! I really like how it turned out and actually surprised myself (I was NOT expecting it to turn out as good as it did, I don’t really ever draw or paint…I get too frustrated and give up lol). This is the first time I’ve ever felt “proud” of any kind of artwork I’ve done. The painting started out as just a freehand sketch with a mechanical pencil, it bugged me to death for days until I couldn’t stand it any more and HAD to get some color on it!
