Painting the inside of the coop?

So, painting the cracks keeps them out, but a wide open coop door/wall vent does not? Get what I am saying? If you are saying to paint it to keep mites out, are you sealing your doors/vents at night?
 
That's what I was trying to get at...lol.

It makes sense that they would have no place to hide, but it would probably take a lot of paint to seal up certain gaps in my coop...lol.

Any other bug infestations I should be worrying about? Ants?
 
I've never had any bug infestations in my coop. I've had wasps try to build nests in there. But I get rid of them quick. That's another advantage of painting the inside white. It makes it a lot easier to spot trespassers. When I do my bi-annual cleanings, I'll spray some HappyJack in there. I don't use anything else.
