Pair of nesting Hawks in my yard.....We have babies....

This weekend we saw at least one baby. I was not able to get a picture...Every time I got in position to take a picture she would lay over it.....Maybe next time I can get a picture of the mom with baby.....
Oh by the way all the chickens are fine...No problems with our Hawk family.

I love raptors. We have lots of hawks and owls here.

We rehabilitate wild life as well and we have a baby great horned owl right now we rescued.

My chickens free range as well and I don't think I have ever lost one to hawks or owls, and the owls sit in the same tree with the chickens at night. Now, dogs and fox.....they are the chicken killers around here.

Well our little baby is growing....It was on a lower limb. I took a picture
on my cell phone, now i need to try to get it uploaded on here. It is a mini version on mom and dad except for the fuzzy head and HUGE eyes. It is starting to fly short distances. It is so fun to watch......

By the way all my chickens are accounted for......So I guess they are going other places for meals. I did see one adult bring in a snake the other day.

I will do my best to get the pictures uploaded today.

WOW - that is so cool. Can't wait to see the picture.

I have red tail that like to fly over my 4 acres of mostly pasture surrounded by lots of woods. The crows usually gang up, dive bomb and the hawk go elsewhere.

Last weekend I had three bald eagles flying up above. No crows in sight.

My run is covered and I only free range when I'm standing right there watching and keeping everyone close.

I'm a new chick Mom with ten 14 wk olds and not ready to chance loosing one.

This weekend, I'm going to start on my 8 x 12' cattle panel tractor so I can stick my chicks in there for fresh grass daily while keeping them safe.

Thanks for providing updates.

Cool! I hope you get pictures. We have a nesting pair of Kestrels in our yard. They are nice, too small to bother the hens but they keep an eye out for bigger birds. Unfortunately we have no pictures of babies, they are in a nest box.
