So, a lot of my chickens are very pale. It has been very hot the past week. (101.F) sometimes hotter. They have lots of shade and cool water. Is there anything I can do to make them pink/red again??? Also, I have a rooster who is wheezing. Sounds more like gargling...there is no discharge from his nose or eyes..what can I do???

You may want to worm them with Valbazen 1/2 ml given orally and then repeat it in 10 days. Make sure that your ventlation in the coop is good, cool with fans if needed, check for dust or mold in the area. If there is nasal drainage or watery eyes, you may want to start an antibiotic in the water, such as oxytetracycline or Tylan Soluble Powder. Tylan 50 injectable can also be used orally for just one or two chickens with a dosage of 1 ml twice a day for 5 days, for a 5 pound chicken. Testing might be the best way to go before using an antibiotic to see what you are dealing with--a bacteria, a virus, or a fungal disease. You may also want to separate the sick chicken from the others.
