Hello together,
I do have wyandottes. One of them , I observed at one of them "Goldy 7 years old" that she is very pale almost yellow around her eyes and her comb. She was always very nice and red.
What could it be ? I checked the coop for red mite but negative. Also the other birds are looking good.
Could it be a verm issue or is it the age or what.
She is very lifely and normal, is eating well running around....only how she looks.
Can anyboddy give me some advise please ?
Thanks

Hi and welcome :frow
As above, pictures would be really helpful! Answers to same questions also please ref molting and laying.
Also can you tell us what she gets to eat please? Sometimes a deficiency can cause yellowing in the face. Namely deficiencies of iron, copper or vitamin B12
Answers to the questions asked will help everyone here offer more accurate opinions.

Hello and welcome to BYC. A few of my chickens become more pale in the face in winter when they not laying. Can you try a vitamin and mineral tonic for chickens daily, or even some chopped beef liver as a small treat a couple of days a week?

Edited to say that it might be good to try a wormer, such as Flubenvet in her food for a week’s treatment. If you have a vet, they may be able to prescribe albendazole or fenbendazole wormer as an oral dose once and again in 10 days.

Hello everybody !
I am really owerwalmed about all this fantastic answeres and advises.
First here is a pic.
She looks already much better now.....
I feed them WCF Fresh Layers Pallets and twice a day they are getting WCF Everyday Poultry Mix. They also are running free in a huge garden.
I just startet today with VermEX.
She is very lively and is eating well is happy purching......she looks not ill its only this paleness (what was last week almost beige). Like I said she is over 7 years now as well....but the others are nice and red.
I also can t tell that she is laying or not....we are getting not so many eggs at the moment anyway ( out of 8 hens)

Thanks again for this great forum.....
