Pale scaly comb, blue-tinged on back of comb UPDATED WITH PIC

I think you are worrying about nothing.

He looks very healthy.

The colour of the combs changes colour easily. It can change because of health, but also just due to temperatures and even the birds mood. My roosters can have dark blue and purple parts if they are upset, also bright cherry red, darker red, and pale areas.

The yellow poop just sound like the nasty smelly ones they have sometimes.

If the bird is acting normally and is eating, drinking etc, and not acting sick, I would not worry.

Wow, I had no idea they changed color like that! I suppose he could be slightly stressed. He's old enough to be in a coop, but I still have him in a brooder with the other chicks because his original brooder-mates died from Cocci. He was super lonley, and when I bought new chicks, I just put them in together. He gets let out a couple of times a day to run around the yard and forage, but he's probably getting tired of being stuck in a tote. Thankfully we'll be finishing up our coop this weekend, so hopefully he'll feel better :)

I have read on here that if they bird is suffering form some kind of respiratory disease their comb can turn purple or go dark - because of lack of oxygen. But if that was the case the bird would be acting very sick and depressed also.

Have you ever seen male domestic turkeys. I used to have a few. Their wattles would change colour a lot because of their mood. I had one that if I whistled a tune to him his wattles would turn very deep blue and he would get angry lol.

I have about 10 roosters, and sometimes their combs change colour - usually only at the comb tips or back part of the comb. I have noticed it tends to be when they get annoyed about another rooster, or if something is bothering them - like if I clean out the run, or some building work is going on my land.

I used to worry a lot about it. But they are all very healthy and happy. Usually the combs are bright red.

If you notice the flesh of the comb looks dry, cracked, or covered in white flaky stuff, then you will know your rooster is sick. Or if he is not active, or acting sick also.

What kind of chicken is he? I have Japanese Bantams, and he looks like a young one of them.

Just a quick note about poop... The majority of poop, like 95% should be well formed with a white cap on it. Does it change color? Yes, it can, but it should be firm, never foamy and never yellow, yellow is never a normal poop color. So if the majority of his poops are foamy and/or yellow, I think he has a problem.

Have you wormed him lately? If you haven't you should, just like I suggested on the first page of this thread.

Casport: Thankfully I haven't seen anymore yellow poop since yesterday morning. None of the chicks have been wormed as of yet, but I plan on doing so tomorrow morning :)

Jak: That is hilarious about the turkeys! And yes, I believe he's a Japanese Bantam. The lady I got them from ( who apparently didn't really know what she was doing, because all of the chicks I got from her died, except for this one ) said he was a Dutch, but after doing some research, and posting on BYC, I've settled on Japanese. So the comb color change is normal then?
