For the last few days, we've noticed a pale yolk each day. Then, all of a sudden, one of our hens went broody. Anyone ever noticed a connection? I won't know for a few days if the pale eggs continue, and I guess that's when I'll know for sure. But thought I'd ask...

Never seen or heard of that. But with the change in behavior the hen may, in theory, change her eating habits prior to setting, thus changing color. Let us know.

Well, I think I waited long enough, and the pale eggs have disappeared. So I'm 99% sure that the broody was the one laying them. There were only a few, and they stopped as soon as she started sitting. Maybe as her body was changing into broodiness, she didn't spend as much time out eating bugs or something. I don't know, but interesting none the less...

what is a broody hen, i keep hearing this term, and im a newbie.

It's a hen who has biologically changed and has stopped laying, and started sitting on eggs to hatch them.
