Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! There are some threads that have pics etc of smaller pallet coops being built, ie https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/792316/my-4x6-pallet-coop-build-completed-pic-heavy and https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/636121/show-off-your-small-or-cheap-made-coop
Have you looked at the BYC Small Coops section? Just find a coop you like the looks of and click on the link, most explain fairly well how they made it or what materials they used https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/small-chicken-coop-designs-pictures-of-chicken-coops

Welcome to BYC!

Kelsie has really gotten you on the path to some good links. You can also check out our chicken tractor section. These coops are quite small...

Good luck and I hope you can find something easy to build and that works for you. Welcome to our flock!

I wanted a coop that was easy to clean, higher up so that I would not need to stoop over to clean. work on it. I wanted it to be cheap, protect the chickens and this was what we have. We got the plans for the pallet coop from my pet chicken. We built it from pallets and my husband even straightened and re-used the nails - A scout is thrifty....HE is an eagle scout. We used oops paint we got for $5 and it had a $5 dollar rebate....score!!!. The catawabe coop in the back ground cost about 115.00 to build with treated lumber and has a ton of damage primarily from ants and termites. Even though we built it and painted it same time as pallet coop.

You don't need fancy when simple works well.
Glad you joined us.
