Despite rumors to the contrary, I AM still alive! When my husband came back from vacation he worked me like a dog to get the coop finished! Between that and difficulties with work, it's taken this long for me to get back to the computer.
Okay, the coop is pretty much done. I will start working on my coop page, but for now let me post a couple pics to give you an idea of what I did.
Here is the base with the joists and plywood flooring in place. I've started at the corner with two full pallets. I used lots of shims to get it level, and screwed them to the floor and to each other:
Here you can see the finished back of the structure (minus outer plywood). We insulated the entire structure with straw- just crammed it in everywhere we could fit it, and then covered the whole thing with plywood (those pics to follow)
That's all I have online right now, but I humbly promise to be a good girl and maintain this thread like I said I would. Next week, say Tuesday, I will post more pics to show the outside, roof, windows, etc.
