I am starting a pallet coop loosely based on a DIY I found on Pinterest. I have half the pallets on site already with the other half being delivered this week. I’m including my not so artistic sketch as well as a photo of the design that I am basing mine off of.
Please, I welcome all advise and recommendations from those who have built pallet coops.
I also plan on installing a tarp cover for the floor to make for easy coop cleaning.

Can't wait to see what you build, we are in the process of converting the kids old swing set so many good ideas out there!

Very nice, make sure to add more windows or ventilations on the upper section. My second coop is made out of pallets and my kids swing frame. I think I got some photos when I was building it.

Awesome thanks :)
I plan to have a window on each door and a screen in the slanted roof section as well. If at all possible I’m going to try my hand at a double door that will have both hard door and screen door.

I'll tell you what I wish I would have done, and would have made my life easier. I wish I had been pickier and more precise about getting identical size pallets, at least for the sides. For the floor you can get away with a bit more awkwardness if you put a sheet board over everything anyway.

Then, I would have taken the sawzall and sawed the slats off the back side of the pallets. Then I would have screwed them all together and reinforced with a few 2x4's vertically. Then, plugged the gaps with the pallets from the backside. Instead, I insisted on taking apart every single pallet to the studs, mostly, and reassembling. I also had the advantage of a reclaimed shipping crate of some sort.

I still plan to paint it and the run is a work in progress but anyhow, here's the final product. Some of my advice is 20-20 hindsight that involves a misadventure that led to me having to take 25 steps back. Oh well.

Add plenty of overhang on all sides and have top part of the walls open and covered with hardware cloth. You need at least 1 square foot of breeze free ventilation per bird minimum.
