Pallet coop- tips and ideas needed!

If its the same size wouldn’t it take up the same amount of space? but now you would have a narrow bit the you can’t put much in and would be difficult for chickens to get past each other if they fight
My dad is saying it would look better and it will give more space to open the door.
He's saying the passageway will be big enough for them to get through into the main bit

Yes it will be big enough for them to get in but if you have one chicken who bullies other chickens it might be hard for the bullied chicken to get past, just my thoughts

You had that problem?
Sledgehammer works good I've found.
Yes. I took two apart and got so annoyed after five minutes I purposely shattered the slats with a hammer to get them off and only used the three pieces of wood those were "nailed" to. It was miserable.
I heard Lowe has 1/2" hardware cloth on clearance so I called and a sales clerk took what I needed to the service desk (my daughter picked it up for me)I bought enough hardware cloth to cover a 8 x 16 run for less than $50 (50% off) I bought (8) 24" wide x 10 ft lengths
Wow! That's a great deal. I prefer the smaller and black vinyl coated for what I've been building. I've been getting it on Amazon.

I made a Green house last summer(6 x 8) and this year a coop 5 x 6 and attached run 4 x 6 then an extension to the run 8 x 16 pallet and a pallet fence -60 feet.I've gone thru a ton of pallets between last summer and now and there's a dozen different kinds of pallets.Make it easy on yourself and source the pallets you want to work with before you start building it. One type I found absolutely would not come apart so I beat it with a sledge hammer and split every board on it but two .It was the best looking pallet out of all of them.(If you can get some of these use them whole or use a sawzall to cut every nail out.)The only way I'd use a pallet to build with is whole pallets. If I'd had the money to build what I wanted I wouldn't have put myself thru this but free was the only way I could afford them. Now I have a big wooden fence that runs along my driveway with a cute little greenhouse. My chicken coop, run and extension are right beside the green house and I grow all my flowers and vegetables alongside it all.I wish you the best in this endeavor!
