I made some palt which is a Swedish dish I learned how to make from my Swedish grandmother-in-law. It is sort of a potato dumpling stuffed with meat. I'm not Swedish but I was one of the few of my generation who learned how to make it. My boys really like it so I still make it sometimes.

Here is the link to my blog with instructions. http://mountaingardengleanings.blogspot.com/2011/03/palt.html

Nobody cooks like those older ladies fromN Europe, I moved to Ky from Wis and I still miss the little bakery that was run by 1 polish lady and 1 german lady. The only good thing is i"m probably 20 lbs lighter than I would be if they were still 2 miles away. Its nice your keeping some of the older dishes going it would be a shame to lose them.
