Pancake the Rooster

My oldest Daughter's Cochin rooster is a mess. He is a silly thing and reminds me of a Mexican hat dancer at times. Anyway he is a very pretty boy. Just thought I'd share a pic of him.

I tried to get some of him with his ladies, but he was trying to eat the camera. She has him with a red, a blue, and a gold laced. I am a bit interested in what colors he will produce. She was hoping to show him this year and their little club shows but was told he was not show quality.

I don't understand showing politics. I think there are shows to just show off your pretty roosters...and they don't have to be breed standard...I think they are fewer and far between though.
I think he's gorgeous! I'm sure that's very sad for a kid to hear that their bird isn't "show quality" it's like being told that they aren't good enough...I know I get offended when people say things like that about my birds...I think they are all beautiful. I've seen some less than desirable females at the beauty pageants around here....but it's kinda hick ville....not much to choose from...standards aren't so high....still....maybe they should tell those girls they aren't show quality!
