Hey everyone,
I have three white pekins that are a week and a half old. Temp in the hot corner of their brooder is 90. They are sitting away from the light and two of them seem content while the other is panting heavily all of a sudden. They have been happy at this temp lately and sometimes even lay right under the light so I'm confused. What should I do? I'm new to this.

Yes, but it's a pretty deep one. I'm new to this and they told me at TSC it would work 😬😢 poor babies. Is there anything specific you'd recommend using?

:welcome

Your brooder should be plenty big enough that the ducklings can move away from the heat lamp if they get too warm, so they can find the sweet spot almost. As far as a waterer, yes it's very important ducklings can clean their nares out. Lots of people use something like this.

It is definitely big enough, the duck was completely out of the light at the time.

I moved their light up quite a bit and the temp went down to 87° in there. They're happier now and I plan to move it up a bit more today. I'm going to make one of those waterers out of a jug today and hope they take to it. Thanks for the advice 😁

I got to TSC supply all the time but one thing you can pretty much depend on is that whoever is working there doesn't know squat about ducks! I wouldn't ask them when you've got this forum that can help with just about everything because they really are clueless for the most part!

Soooo I have it down to 80 now and one of my three ducklings is panting again. Should I decrease temp even more?
