Hello.
I have a two week old duck that pants like a dog. I have 8 ducks and none of them pant. This one is the most big but wanting to know what’s wrong because it’s not hot. Is it normal? Also I have only one duck when it gets done swimming it slobbers a lot. Is that also normal?

What kind of bedding are you using? Whats the temp in the brooder exactly? Do you mean the duckling regurgitates the water after swimming?

I use the TSC fine shred bedding.
I have a thermometer it shows 80 and they are on the other side away from the light under the light is 80 I’m sure the other side is more cooler.

The other one when I pick it up out the water, the water and snot looking clear stuff comes out it’s mouth. Like it’s stringy water

It’s the big yellow duck tried to take pictures of it panting

They look hot to me, could you get them a bigger brooder? Looks like they are trying to stay away from the heat, but panting because they are all in a pile.

I didn’t think to move them further away from the light. How long before they cool off? I could do a bigger brooder but I wouldn’t be able to keep them inside.

Would you have a recommendation on what size I should get I can get something I don’t want them uncomfortable.
