For all that sell eggs:

Do your customers prefer clear plastic cartons or the paper mache type?

I use what ever my customers bring me. I don't have many but they are always bringing me cartons. I am stocked up now for a while.

I was kind of thinking the paper too, it seems to be natural like the eggs.

Anyone else have any say?

I think they liked the plastic better, but they broke too easy. I got tired of breaking the cartons at home, so i switched to paper. Also Paper is compost-able so i feel like I'm doing my part to save the environment.

I was going to go with plastic for the fact they are easily sterilized and reused as well as people not having to open them. I was thinking of doing some mixed cartons with various eggs and selling them on the honor system where people just put money in a container. I don't want people moving eggs around to get certain ones at a cheaper price though so I was hoping to use clear ones that they could look in at the various eggs while taping the end shut so they wouldn't get opened as often but I'm finding unless you get the really fancy plastic ones they do break too easy.

Now I'm thinking of just being lazy and putting baskets of eggs in a fridge on the porch and telling people to fill their own cartons instead of purchasing and sorting eggs into them.
