Paper-thin egg shells

the old fashion layer above doesn't have much food in it. I use a whole grain layer and anyone can make that part of their feed choice. Also don't feed any Spinach as that depletes their calcium intake. .. ALWAYS feed Oyster Shells on the SIDE cup so they can take as much or as little as they know they need. Same for the right size LAYER granite grit. NOT a combination and not mixed in and not "oh they free range" ... OFFER it in a cup close to where they lay eggs so it is taken as needed by them.

I also have a hen with this problem. She gets the Purina Layena. I give them a bowl of oyster shell that is knocked out by hens and scattered considerably. She now is about 3 but has always had this issue. Lays extremely well but eggs are cracked and opened by other hen. Perhaps I should work on egg breaking hen. Is there something I could do with her? I read an old post about something to do with putting mustard in a broken egg but not sure of what it may involve. I have walked into area and her hitting eggs with her beak quite hard. Other eggs are stronger than this one hen that seems to have a thinner shell. Breed is Delaware. Are Delaware's this aggressive and asertive.
