I have budgies that live outside year round in a shed in the winter but gets below zero and do fine they can survive as long as they have seeds but you can put a cage with seeds in it and play budgie sounds to lure him near the cage and in it to catch him in a cage if hes hungry he should go in I free flighted budgies before and had to catch escaped budgies before heres a vid of one of my escapees a few years ago...also had a chick fly off this year but got her back aswell
