They are beautiful mtocih! I am tickled to see their pictures! I have told everybody today about the Snow playing the part of a Dove. It just make me smile. I would love to see a video....
I think you might be right about both being males. On my computer....both ceres look blueish. Your description, of their happy voices and antics isn't 100%, but they sound like guys to me.
Males tend to do a lot of bobbing and singing. Females are loud and bossy!
As far as treats....just try different fruits and veggies. Parakeets can be picky and "scaredy cats" with something new. Trying to figure out what they consider a treat may be a bit challenging. Try placing just a tiny bit and tiny in size.... in the cage at a time. Give them a chance to figure out its not a "booger"! I stick with the same thing for several days just to see what they will go for. Once they hop right over to it...you got em! That will be your taming/training tool! Tis best to avoid anything salty, fatty, or chocolate. Avocados, mushrooms and onions are off the table too. I have tamed a few with cheerios, but only give it as an occasional treat afterwards. My Mother always used Fritos. I have.... many a fond memory of my Mom training her birds with Fritos, but I'm sure she never considered the salt content. The preservatives were probably a lot different 50 years ago too!
Anyways....I love reading about Snow and Emerald. Looking forward to more....
