The house I grew up in had strange happenings.

Things would fall off shelves, but land way further away than where they should have. I specifically remember a tape dispenser landing halfway across the dining room.

I was plagued with bad dreams as a child. My mother thought it was just how I was wired, but when I moved out, she moved into my bedroom. She started having bad dreams in there. I, meanwhile, stopped having them. She got so spooked, she put a cross above her bed in hopes of dispelling them.

On the other hand, I think there can be good energies, too. When my husband and I were looking for a house, we came across one that just radiated peacefulness. Even my parents commented on it. It made you feel so content -- really warm and fuzzy. It was amazing.

I love this thread. The stories are fantastic!

We have a poltergeist that likes to throw things around in the bathroom, & occasionally kitchen stuff.
