I have heard a howl at night, but it was so loud my ribcage rattled. I hear coyotes all the time, it was not coyotes, and a cougar would not have howled that long. My dog who was never afraid of anything, and always barked, dropped to the floor and was clinging to it with her toenails. I had also dropped to the floor. I think it was bigfoot and it was hunting season, and hunters near by had hung up a deer, and bigfoot was upset, because the hunters were not full timers, and were not normally there. The hunters reported the noise and thought it was bigfoot also.

The closest I heard but not as loud was howler monkeys at the zoo.
Wow!! Do you really think it could have been Bigfoot?? Have you heard it again?

Hey, good idea @MysteryChicken !!
Here's my story

A few years ago, around 2013-2015, I heard this really loud howling/screaming noise one night. All the dogs were barking at it. My mom and dad heard it too, I've done a lot of research online, but I never did figure out what it was, closest I can get to it is a coyote howl
I don't think what you heard was a coyote. Though they can make strange sounds sometimes.

I also don't believe in ghosts, but I do believe in demons. But with that said, I have a story from my childhood. For background, the house I grew up in belonged to my great grandparents before my parents. My pappy was actually born in my bedroom. I don't know if they died in the house or not but I don't think they did. When I was about 14, my parents surprised me with a piano. A friend of theirs had been cleaning out a house that they bought and offered it to my parents for me since I always wanted to play. Randomly, when I would play, a sweet smell like cherry pipe tobacco would show up. I LOVED that smell. My brother and I both smelled it on multiple occasions but it wasn't something that always happened and no matter how much we searched through the piano, we couldn't find the source of the smell. After I turned 18, moved out, and took my piano with me, I never smelled it again. Years later, I found out that my great grandpa smoked a pipe... always cherry tobacco. My brother said at random times he would hear footsteps upstairs but I never heard them.

In our first apartment, my boyfriend (now husband) used to say he could hear footsteps in the hallway when he was the only one home. It was a creepy, old apartment. We were both afraid of the back bedroom and never went back there unless necessary. It was always cold. We just threw things back there for storage. We even avoided looking back the hallway towards that room, always afraid something would be there though there never was. The light outside our apartment door would constantly burn out too but we always attributed that to old wiring. It was really scary when I got off at midnight and had to come home, going up to our 3rd floor apartment, in the dark. No matter how often we replaced the bulb, it wouldn't last more than a week or so.

When I was a kid we used to live in this old house in an area of Bainbridge called Fort Ward, which I mentioned in this thread before. Any how we had a back bedroom we never used as a bedroom as kids, because it was to scary. There was a main bedroom we never used either because it was kind of scary, but had 2 doors to the room, which is nice to escape. I slept in the living room mainly because the house was spooky. I think the back bedroom was so scary because it had a basement that was always flooded, and the room was above all that water.

I like watching Ancient Aliens, and they talk about an area in Turkey called Gobekli Tepe, I decided to name my chicken who is a spitzenhauben, "Goltbekli peck-me." Golt, because it is a golden, and that is how you say gold in German.
