After my dad's friend Leonard died, he experienced the cupboards, & the refrigerator being wide open.

So, maybe expect something similar?

I had the same thing happen when I was a kid and sick home alone.
I was probably around 12. I heard scratching at my bedroom door. I looked at the door and saw scratch marks all over the bottom of the door on the inside which I hadn't noticed before.
I got up and wandered to the kitchen down the hall. All the cabinet doors and the refrigerator door was open. It was my first paranormal experience and I was scared out of my mind.
I took off running down the gravel road barefoot in my pajamas, we lived in a rural area.
My mom came driving down the road to come home and saw me and thought I'd lost my mind.
All I kept saying was, "there is something in that house..." When we got home she yelled at me for leaving the refrigerator door open and all of the cabinets.
My mom has a new mobile home now but on the same land.
 
I went to a ladies dinner party, and one lady when she lived in a town about an hr away she had an oven where the door would open and close over and over. She said she would go to the stove, close the door and say knock it off. And that worked.

I also so an unsolved mystery show in the 80's where a lady said she had a ghost in her house and to let the lady know it was there would knock a whole loaf of bread on the floor, or something like that, and that lady would just calmly go over to the loaf of bread, pick it up and put it back on the counter, and say, "Okay, I know you are here, now quit it."

Wow! Once I asked my deceased chicken Perri, if she was there - and a shooting star went across the sky, exact moment. It was night by the way. And the chickens started acting up, clucking and boking. She's passed over now though - I know.
 
It sometimes sounds like someone walking around upstairs, we have a light in the living room that is over our couch and right under the stairs, we can hear a creak and see the light above the couch wiggle, (like every other time some one walks on the stairs). We have gotten so used to it we don't even react. The dog, sort of responds but also seems used to it. We also have our dishes in our strainer move about. Not like a shift, like in the sink but like it is getting knocked into. More than once (We have the dish rack where a door to outside used to be and it it is like someone bumps them walking through where the door would be. ) This happened 2x today, and my dog lifted his head and looked over there for a while. Also today, I had some boxes in my laundry room stacked. The laundry room is next to the living room, and the door was open, the boxes made a loud sound like they got kicked. A dog we are babysitting was lying on a bed near by and just stared at the boxes along time after.
 
Have you guys heard of dragons throat cave in Bulgaria? It's a facinating mystery. The government suddenly spent millions of dollars to "dig up treasure" somewhere in Bulgaria, after a year it was filled up with concrete and permanently sealed. There's a really good video about it, but I can't find it anymore.
