Parasite causing feather loss.... not molting UPDATE

For the feather loss due to mounting, I've had great success with Hen Saver saddles. I get lots of snide comments from my friends and visitors who wonder why in the world I'm "dressing" my chickens

Betsy, I treated a flock of rescue chickens for scaly leg mites and one of them had red, dry rough skin on her head. I thought it was odd so while I was oiling her legs (she was a severe case so I brought her to my house to treat intensively) I wiped some oil on her head...immediately the skin came off on the paper towel. I found out she had scaly leg mites on her head. The ivomec pour on worked the best.

ETA: I could not see any bugs on her either.
