Parasites around chicks eyes - need suggestions

Emu chick has parasites around eyes and face. What are these and how should they be treated/removed?

I’ve already put a warm moist rag on the closed eye and it is now open. Put lubricating eye drops as well.

I personally don't have experience with these birds or eye parasites, but you may want to take her/him to the vet.

I would assume you'd remove them like any other tick. Carefully with tweezers. Drop them into a container of isopropyl alcohol to kill them.

Hmmm . . .
Thanks for informing me about this. The wild birds here get ticks -- I suppose 'ordinary ticks' -- and it breaks my heart that I can rarely pluck them off.
