You will get lots and lots of opinions on this! From “I use them regularly and love it” to “I never use them and never would.”
So I’ll give you my opinion.
I personally don’t feed essential oils. I’m not opposed to using them in and around the chickens but like the article said there are no regulations for oils.
I will feed fresh garlic in a mash treat. Or put it in their waterer. I’ve given ACV in their waterer as well. I’ve fed dried oregano and have oregano oil in pill form. (I got the oil in pill form because it’s for human consumption. I can dissolve the pill or squeeze the oil out of the soft gel.)
I have used VCO and sugar on wounds. Bee propolis and honey are also useful. Colloidal Silver is also in my arsenal.
I think natural and homeopathic has it’s place. But if I have a sick chicken and medication is needed, medication is used.
Hope for the best but be prepared for the worst.
