parasites- which ones look like tiny transparent rice?

that's really my whole question. i'm assuming it's either lice or mites. i think a couple of them had a red spot on them.

i've never seen them before, so this is new to me.

i'm planning to buy some pyrethrin dust this afternoon and treat the birds and the coop.

any suggestions?

Don't know much about worms in chickens but in general:

red spot could be mites. Tape worms or round worms are the ones you typically see. (round look a bit like spagetti adn the tapes are kind of like rice).

That sounds more like lice or mites.
