No, I did not perform a rescue mission for the laptop you confiscated last week and it is not under my pillow. Yes, I have just been lying on my bed in the middle of the day staring at this wall for the last five hours... Uhh... Thinking. Yep. Riveting thoughts.

What are your best pieces of advice for new parents?
Read to the babies, and let them see you reading.

Babies understand much, much, much more than most people think they can. Both words and what is happening in general. That helped me dig deeper for patience and self control. It does matter.
 
I read to my son while breastfeeding my daughter. I played music to my children in the womb. Both children were signed up to the library before their 2nd birthdays.
Daughter was reading up to 7 books simultaneously by 13yrs. (true the women in my family do read multiple books simultaneously - but she can read the most and retain the information/story for the most)
Son needed creativity - like comic style books for his interest to be visual and sound at once.
